Florian Prey

Florian Prey (* 1959 in Hamburg ) is a German opera singer (lyric baritone ).

Life

Prey came as the son of the baritone Hermann Prey and his wife Barbara, geb. Pniok, to the world. He studied with Hanno Blaschke at the Munich University of Music . He made his debut as Count in Franz Schreker's Der ferne Klang at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice . There he sang Jesus in the first staged performance of Bach's St. John Passion . Florian Prey was a member of the Vienna Chamber Opera , where he played Silvio in George Tabori's production of Bajazzo by Ruggiero Leoncavallo .

Prey is a member of the ensemble named after him baroque florian prey, which is dedicated to the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. He has participated in various television, radio and CD recordings. Since 2006 he has headed the 1,981 called by his father to life Festival Autumn Music Festival Bad Urach . In Gauting near Munich he is the artistic director of the small summer festival in the Remise Schloss Fußberg .

In 2010 Florian Prey received the Günther Klinge Prize from the municipality of Gauting for his artistic work.
