Ridley is the brand of the Belgian Race Productions NV from Paal-Beringen , manufacturer of racing bikes and components.

Ridley Bikes supplies racing bikes made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (carbon) and aluminum for road and track, triathlon bikes , cyclocross bikes and mountain bikes in the top price segment. The frames are manufactured in the Far East by the OEM company that also works for Cervélo and Scott Sports . In Belgium, the frames are painted and assembled (customized) according to customer requirements. Between 25,000 and 30,000 units were delivered in 2010. In 2011 the company had around 80 employees worldwide.

history

The company was founded in 1990 by Jochim Aerts in Tessenderlo . Aerts named his company after the British film director Ridley Scott . Ridley was originally a garage company and specialist who made bespoke racing bike frames and painted and decorated frames for other brands. From 1997 on, complete racing bikes developed in-house were also marketed. Paul Kumpen, ex-racing driver, racing team owner and building contractor from Hasselt , represented by his son Anthony, who is responsible for sales and marketing, has been a financially strong partner in the company since 2000 .

Product range

Ridley prides himself on having developed the fastest time trial machines in the world with the Dean and Noah guys , which were created after intensive wind tunnel tests. These tests led to findings for a new wheel series, the future aero speed technology - FAST for the road.

Before 2001, Race Productions NV started developing and selling bike components such as saddles, handlebars, wheels, etc. under the brand name 4ZA-FORZA .

Sponsorship

Ridley was meanwhile the official supplier of the ProTeam Vacansoleil-DCM . The Continental teams Unibet.com and Contentpolis-Murcia , Fidea Cycling Team and Sunweb-Revor are also supplied as well as the U-23 teams Omega Pharma-Lotto Davo cycling team and Ovyta Eijssen Acrog cycling team.

With the start of the 2012 season, Ridley became a co-sponsor of the newly founded Belgian cycling team Lotto-Belisol .
