Ried is a district of the town of Monheim in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries ( Bavaria ).

The church village is about 1.5 kilometers southeast of Monheim.

history

The area around Ried was settled very early, which is proven by finds from the Celtic and Roman times . In the Middle Ages , the place belonged to the county of Lechsgemünd-Graisbach , later it was owned by the Benedictine monastery of Monheim.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Ried was incorporated into the city of Monheim.
