The Rifugio Maniago is an alpine refuge in the municipality of Erto e Casso in the town of Pordenone , northeast of Erto, in the Val Zemola , in the Friulian Dolomites , at 1730 m slm . The hut is operated by the Maniago section of the Club Alpino Italiano .
history
The refuge was built in 1963, the year of the tragic Vajont disaster , and entrusted to the city of Maniago . Originally it had the characteristics of a bivouac . In 1985 it was rebuilt. Another renovation took place in 2000.
Access
The hut can be reached via a side road that comes out of town and leads down into the valley and to a parking lot. From there, access leads over a forest path out of the valley to the foot of Monte Duranno . From the structure there are paths towards the other corner of the valley, the Duranno shoulder and on the other side of the Duranno fork.
