Rik Van Slycke (born February 3, 1963 in Ghent ) is a former Belgian cyclist and today's sports director .

In 1984 Rik Van Slycke became the Belgian military road racing champion . From 1986 to 1999 he was active as a professional . In 1989 he won the Nokere Koerse and in 1992 the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen . In 1995 he also won together with Laurenzo Lapage the rail contest Silver Eagle from Cologne . As a typical domestic , it started five times in the Tour de France as well as in other great tours and classics , but only ended up in the back places.

After the end of his active time as a cyclist, Van Slycke switched to the sporting management of cycling teams. Since 2005 he has been one of the sports directors of the Quick Step-Innergetic team (today's name Omega Pharma-Quickstep ).
