Rilo Pöhlmann

Rilo Pöhlmann (* 1940 ; † August 20, 2011 ) was a German sports scientist and university professor .

Life

In 1976 Pöhlmann submitted his doctoral thesis on the subject of "The motor learning process (theoretical studies and experimental investigations on selected psychomotor problems of learning processes in sport)" in Jena .

As a professor of kinetics at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Pöhlmann also had scientific contacts in the United States . In the work "The Development of Movement Theory and Sports Motor Skills in Germany" by Christopher Kuhfeldt, it says in this regard: "These contacts, which are probably unique for the scientific discipline in the GDR, even resulted in Pöhlmann's six-month study visit to the USA".

Pöhlmann was a professor at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena until 1991 and was one of the most outstanding sports motorists in the GDR. In his scientific work, he dealt with learning psychological problems in sport, the tracking process in sport, sensorimotor learning processes, rhythm training and the ability to perceive and observe.
