Rimantas Prūsaitis

Rimantas Prūsaitis (born January 28, 1956 in Marijampolė ) is a Lithuanian forester, since 2014 the general forest manager of Lithuania .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Alytus , Rimantas Prūsaitis graduated as a forest engineer at the forestry faculty of the Aleksandras Stulginskis University and worked from 1978 to 1979 as a senior technician and mechanic , from 1979 to 1990 as a forest ranger , from 1990 to 1991 as Head forester and from 1994 as head forester in the Alytus forestry department . In 2004 he received his PhD in biomedical sciences on the regeneration of oak trees and their factors for the growth and properties of mixed young stands. From 2009 to 2014 he was director of Valstybinė miškų tarnyba . From 1997 to November 11, 2014 he has been the Lithuanian general forest manager (at the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment ).

He is a member of the Science Council at the Lietuvos miškų institutas research institute of Lietuvos agrarinių ir miškų mokslų centras .

Prūsaitis is married. With Ms. Vilma, a neuropathologist , he has a daughter, an odontologist, and a son, a bank employee.
