Rina Seljonaja ( Russian Рина Зелёная , real name Ekaterina Vasilyevna Seljonaja / Екатерина Васильевна Зелёная ; born October 25, jul. / 7. November 1901 greg. In Tashkent , Russian empire ; † 1. April 1991 , Moscow , Soviet Union ) was a Soviet theater - and film actress .
Life
In 1919 Seljonaya graduated from the Moscow Higher Theater School. Since 1921 she has played at the theaters "Balagantschik" (little shack) in Petrograd , "Krot" (mole) in Odessa and "Ne Rydai" (don't cry) in Moscow. In 1924 she entered the Moscow Teatr Satiry (Theater of Satire). In 1928 she switched to the Teatr obosreni (Theater of Circular Shows). In the 1930s she appeared with children's stories and worked on the radio.
During the Great Patriotic War , she traveled to the front with actor brigades, for which she was awarded the Red Star Order .
Her stage name "Rina" came about when the full name "Yekaterina Seljonaja" did not fit on a poster.
Rina Seljonaja was always skeptical about awards. She always said “If I get an award, it will be 40 minutes before my death.” It actually happened like this: On April 1, 1991, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR decided to award Rina Seljonaja as a People's Artist of the USSR ; Rina Seljonaja died a few hours later.
She is buried in Moscow , in the Vvedenskoye Cemetery, next to her husband Konstantin Topuridze , an academic in architecture.

Individual evidence
- ↑ Different sources give the date of birth of Rina Seljonaja differently, mostly without distinction according to the Julian / Gregorian calendar. The following is written about it: “ She did not exactly know her age herself. So whenever she had to fill out a form, she kept thinking up the year of her birth. All reference works give their date of birth as April 7, 1902; Her friends, on the other hand, are certain that it could just as well be 1896 or 1900. In any case, relatives of Rina Seljonaja claim that she was born in 1901. This date is also on the actress's tombstone in the Vvedenskoye Cemetery . " - see. [1] , [2]
