Rio Vista is a city in eastern Solano County in the US state of California . The city is located on the Sacramento River in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta . Rio Vista has 7876 inhabitants on an area of 18.4 km². The annual Bass Festival takes place in October .
In 1985, in the Sacramento River, 100 kilometers upstream, a humpback whale called Humphrey swam . In 2007 a whale was swimming with her calf in the river called Delta and Dawn .
