Rishton ( Cyrillic Риштон ; Russian Риштан Rishtan ) is a city in the Uzbek province Fargʻona , located in the Ferghana Valley , 40 km west of the city of Fargʻona on the border with Kyrgyzstan at about 480 m above sea level. According to the 1989 population census, Rishton had 23,700 inhabitants at the time, according to a calculation for 2009 the population is 31,881. Rishton is the capital of the Rishton district of the same name .

Rishton is known nationwide for its ceramics - around 90% of the ceramics offered in Uzbekistan is made by around 1000 potters in Rishton.
Pottery has been in operation in Rishton for at least 800 years and its origins have not yet been fully explored. Only locally available raw materials are used in Rishton ceramics, such as red clay from a clay pit near Rishton or white clay from Angren or Osh . A characteristic of Rishton ceramics are ornaments and patterns painted on in blue and turquoise colors.
