Rita Burrichter
Rita Burrichter (* 1961 in Waltrop ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .
Life
She completed her studies in Catholic theology, art history and philosophy in Münster and Bochum with a doctorate in Catholic theology in 1995 with an interdisciplinary thesis on the subject of “art education”. She was a research assistant / university assistant at the Chair for Religious Education and Catechetics of the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum (1989–1996; 1998–2004). As a lecturer, she taught pastoral theology at the Episcopal College of the Diocese of Essen (1996-2004). Since 2004 she has been teaching as a professor for practical theology at the University of Paderborn .
Her main research interests are image theology and image didactics, aesthetic learning in religious education, religion in popular culture and professional research in religious education.
