history

On July 16, 1945, Hans Ritz founded "Ritz Messwandler GmbH & Co KG" in Hamburg, the parent company of today's international group of companies, Ritz Instrument Transformers GmbH . In 1953, Ritz supplied nine 380 kV current transformers with capacitive voltage transformers to the Royal Waterfall Society in northern Sweden for the world's first high-voltage network . In 1956 the first foreign subsidiary was founded in Marchtrenk ( Austria ) with 18 employees under the direction of Anton Fink. In 1989 the converter and transformer factory in Wirges (WTW) was incorporated near Ritz. In 1991 the TuR production area for instrument transformers was taken over by Ritz Messwandler GmbH in Hamburg and continued under TuR Messwandler GmbH . In 1998, another foreign subsidiary was founded in Kecskemét ( Hungary ). In 1999 the medium-voltage division of Messwandlerbau Bamberg (MWB) was bought, for which a new plant was built in Kirchaich (near Bamberg). In 2000 a further foreign subsidiary was founded in Shanghai ( China ). Today, Ritz manufactures components for medium-voltage transducers there. In 2007 the companies TuR Messwandler GmbH in Ottendorf-Okrilla , MWB Mittelspannungs GmbH in Oberaurach-Kirchaich, Wandler- und Transformatorenwerk Wirges GmbH in Wirges and Ritz Messwandler GmbH in Hamburg were united under the name Ritz Instrument Transformers GmbH . In 2010, another foreign subsidiary was founded in Lavonia ( USA) . In 2007, the high-voltage instrument transformer division was also sold to Trench.
