The Ritzefeld-Gymnasium Stolberg , officially Ritzefeld-Gymnasium of the city of Stolberg (Rhld.) , Is one of two high schools in Stolberg (Rhineland) and is sponsored by the city.

history

The school was founded in 1880 by Pastor Roland Ritzefeld as a municipal high school for girls . Since 1977, lessons have been co-educational for both sexes. On June 11, 1980, the school committee of the City Council of Stolberg approved the application of the student council to rename the school to Ritzefeld-Gymnasium of the city of Stolberg secondary level I and II .

Armin Ochse was the headmaster until the end of the 2015/16 school year. Ulrich Boddenberg was the school principal in the 2016/17 school year; he was replaced by Uwe Bettscheider, the former principal of the AFNORTH International School in Brunssum and the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium Bonn, in the 2017/18 school year .

media

The Ritzefeld-Gymnasium received media attention in 2016 when students in an evangelical religion course buried a real human skeleton, which was used as an object in biology , to replace it with a new plastic model.

successes

In 2016 the boys' soccer team of the grammar school became champions of the Aachen city region . In 2017 the school won the Abi Challenge of the Sparkasse Aachen .
