Riva Starr (actually Stefano Miele ) is an Italian DJ.

biography

Riva Starr is from Naples and studied oriental languages. In 2005 he earned a doctorate. In addition to his studies, he was active as a DJ and remixer. He worked for Italian musicians and from 2003 also made his own publications. Initially he was active under the name Madox .

After graduating, she moved to London for private reasons. He also turned from breakbeat to house and changed his name to Riva Starr, named after the footballer Gigi Riva and the rap formation Gang Starr . He made a name for himself internationally and became a sought-after DJ and remixer for artists such as Usher , The Gossip and Marina and the Diamonds .

Starr received his first major attention as a producer of his own music in 2010 with his album If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade . Especially the piece I Was Drunk , a collaboration with the French duo Nôze , was a success, especially thanks to the YouTube video.

After moving to London, the Italian also met Norman Cook alias Fatboy Slim , with whom he worked again and again. The Englishman was also involved in his 2013 album Hand in Hand , which consists of a wide variety of collaborations with musicians from different genres. With the joint piece Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat , Riva Starr had a chart hit for the first time.
