The River Chor is a watercourse in Lancashire , England . It is first visible in the southwest of junction 8 of the M61 motorway north of Chorley . It initially flows above ground in a southerly direction before being laid below the surface. It comes to the surface again in the east of Astley Park and now flows in a westerly direction through the park, only to turn south at its western end. It finally flows into the River Yarrow to the west of Chorley .
