The River Greta is a small river in North Yorkshire and Lancashire , England . The Greta arises from the confluence of the River Twiss and the River Doe in Ingleton .

The river flows west through an area known as Lonsdale , past the southern edge of the village of Burton-in-Lonsdale and joins the River Lune west of Thurland Castle .
