The River Ray is a watercourse in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire , England . It arises north of Quainton and flows in a westerly direction. Its main arm is channeled between Charlton-on-Otmoor and Oddington and is known as the New River Ray . The River Ray flows into the River Cherwell on the southern edge of Islip .
