Pont Caron over the Rivière du Chêne

The Rivière du Chêne ( French for " oak river") is a right tributary of the Saint Lawrence River in the Canadian province of Québec .

The Rivière du Chêne has its origin in a swampy area north of Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière . From there it flows through the MRC Lotbinière in a predominantly north-westerly direction. It passes the municipality of Val-Alain . In the lower reaches, the tributaries Rivière Henri , Rivière Huron and Rivière du Bois Clair flow into the Rivière du Chêne on the right. Finally, it flows into the Saint Lawrence River about 60 km west of the provincial capital Québec near Leclercville . The river has a length of 80 km. It drains an area of ​​803 km². The mean discharge is 15 m³ / s. The Petite rivière du Chêne runs west of the Rivière du Chêne .
