Rob Byrnes

Rob Byrnes (born December 8, 1958 in Rochester , New York ) is an American author.

Byrnes grew up in Rochester. After finishing school, Byrnes studied at Union College Schenectady in New York State, where he received his degree. Byrnes then worked in politics and administration. While serving for two members of the New York State Assembly , he ran in 1981 and 1986 as a candidate for Monroe County , New York.

In 1996, Byrnes moved to Manhattan, where he works in the non-for-profit business. Byrnes also writes as an LGBT writer . He published the novels The Night We Met , Trust Fund Boys , the short story Strange Bedfellows, and in 2006 the novel When The Stars Come Out , for which he received the Lambda Literary Award .
