Rob Clutton

Rob Clutton (born September 10, 1966 ) is a Canadian jazz and improvisation musician ( double bass , composition ) who works primarily in the Toronto scene .

Clutton studied at the University of Toronto , where he graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Music . He works in long-term projects at the intersection of composition and improvisation. He toured the US and Europe with Lina Allemanos Titanium Riot and the Neufeld Occhipinti Jazz Orchestra (with Don Byron ). Further tours with the Steve Koven Trio took them to Japan, Great Britain and Mexico. Clutton is on recordings with the AIMToronto Orchestra and Anthony Braxton , Nicole Mitchell , Glen Hall / Roswell Rudd , the David Mott Quintet, Drumheller, Free Music Trio, Handslang, John Millard & Happy Day , Lina Allemano, the Nick Fraser Quartet, the Ryan Driver Quintet, the Steve Koven Trio and The Cluttertones . He released two albums for solo bass with Dubious Pleasures and Suchness Monster .
