Rob Roy Way
The Rob Roy Way is a long distance hiking trail in the Scottish Highlands .
It begins in Drymen and runs northwest to Pitlochry . At its starting point, it crosses the well-known West Highland Way . The length of the route varies between 127 and 148 km with some route alternatives. The starting point is a little north of Glasgow in the Lowlands . You cross the Highland border on the very first day. The path runs through well-populated area and is also suitable for inexperienced hikers.

Accommodation and catering
The path is sufficiently developed for backpackers. There is accommodation at every stage destination and in many places there is also a campsite. On the way there are not only enough shopping opportunities in every major town.
history
The path is named after Robert Roy MacGregor (Rob Roy), who became a national hero with protection rackets and a feud with the Duke of Montrose. The path is an invention of the book publisher, which also publishes the travel guide of the same name.
