Rob White

Robert "Rob" White (born July 15, 1965 in Camblesforth , North Yorkshire , England ) is a British engineer and head of the engine department of the Formula 1 team of the French car manufacturer Renault , the Renault F1 Team.

Life

White was fascinated by technology and motorsport from a very young age. The first attempts were made at school when he designed and built a kart together with a motor sports enthusiast teacher. Engines became a specialty of Rob White.

After graduating from school, he decided against a scholarship from Jaguar and a job at Cosworth . For 17 years he worked for the famous British engine manufacturer. White handled Cosworth's operations in North America . One of his greatest successes during this time was Jacques Villeneuve's 1995 victory in the famous “ Indianapolis 500 ”.

In 2004 he started working in the Renault F1 engine department at the Viry-Châtillon site and has been in charge of technical activities ever since.
