Robby Maria & the Silent Revolution was a Berlin rock band around the Austrian-Argentine songwriter Robby Maria and the Berlin drummer Anni Müller and founded the style of " Apocalyptic Folk Music ".
history
Robby Maria & the Silent Revolution was founded by singer, guitarist and songwriter Robby Maria (bourgeois Robert Maria Muñoz) and drummer Anni Müller in 2008 in Berlin and emerged from the formation Killmotorhill , in which Maria sang and played bass. Bassist Simon Birkholz joined shortly afterwards and remained a permanent member until it was dissolved in August 2012, while guitarist Ben Hunt only appeared on the band's only studio album. The trio was known for its provocative performances, in which Maria screamingly recited her own poems and cast a spell over the audience with passionate performances. Although the mini-album Apocalyptic Folk Music , which was distributed in 2011 and also denoted the musical style of the band, sold over 5,000 copies and helped the band to achieve cult status in the alternative Berlin music scene, the band broke up immediately after the release of their first album Robby Maria & the Silent Revolution due to differences regarding the musical future.
Robby Maria then signed a contract with the German independent label Timezone and released his debut album Metropolis on March 8, 2013 .
