Robert A. Saurwein

Robert A. Saurwein (born July 1, 1907 in Innsbruck , † 1942 missing in Serbia ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist. He mainly created color woodcuts with mostly Tyrolean motifs. He also worked in oil, tempera and watercolor painting .

Saurwein attended the federal college in Innsbruck and then studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart . He was briefly a member of the Innsbruck Secession and belonged to the group “Der Neue Bund”.
