Arató's works can be assigned to hyperrealism . He paints large-format photo-realistic images of the sea and clouds in which the color blue dominates. In his pictures he concentrates on the process of creation, which begins with the preparation of the canvas. His pictures consist of several carefully constructed layers. The fascination of the blue tones in combination with the reproduction of the atmospheric phenomena of light, air and water make up the charm of Robert Arató's pictures.
