Robert Bösch (politician)

Robert Bösch (born April 30, 1922 in Lustenau ; † January 16, 1983 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( VdU , FPÖ ) and a commercial clerk. He was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament , mayor of the municipality of Lustenau and state party chairman of the FPÖ-Vorarlberg.

education and profession

Bösch attended the Lustenau elementary school and the preparatory course for the Lustenau commercial school for a year . He also passed the stenotypist examination and was an employee of the Benedikt Mäser company in Dornbirn from 1937 to 1942. He then served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945 during World War II and, after his return from the war, was employed or department head of the Elastisana-Benedikt Mäser company and operations manager of a branch in Lustenau until 1960. From 1960 Bösch was a full-time mayor.

Politics and functions

Bösch was a member of the Association of Independents between 1949 and 1955 and switched to the FPÖ in 1955 after the Freedom Party was founded. He was active within the party at the local level as the local party chairman of the VdU and FPÖ-Lustenau and was a member of the municipal council from May 13, 1950 to April 30, 1982. Furthermore, he was from August 26, 1952 to April 20, 1955 member of the municipal council and from April 23, 1960 to April 30, 1982 mayor of Lustenau. At the state level he worked from May 16, 1976 to May 16, 1982 as state party leader of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. Bösch was also a member of the state party executive of the FPÖ Vorarlberg, a member of the state party leadership of the FPÖ Vorarlberg and municipal officer of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. At the federal level, from 1976 to 1982 he held the function of a member of the FPÖ federal party leadership and of the FPÖ federal executive committee.

Bösch was also a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from October 17, 1954 to September 1, 1976, where he represented the Feldkirch electoral district until 1969 and then the Dornbirn electoral district. During his long membership in the state parliament, he was a member of the education and popular education committee, member of the social policy committee, member of the finance committee, member of the agricultural committee and member of the culture committee.

A bomb attack on his home on March 11, 1962 was never solved.

In addition to his political offices, Bösch was also a member of the Austrian Aeroclub of the Lustenau Sports Aviation Group, member of the regional association of the Austrian Aeroclub, member of the VOGEWOSI supervisory board , member of the board of trustees of the state housing fund and member of the Vorarlberg community association.

Private

Bösch was born the son of the master embroiderer Johann Bösch and his wife Franziska, née Hofer. He married Ruth Wölfle (1925-2010) on April 28, 1951 and had two daughters.
