Robert Belloni (born December 27, 1940 in Berre-l'Étang , † February 28, 2015 in Hyères ) was a French football goalkeeper .

Career

As a child, Belloni joined the CO Berrois from his hometown of Berre-l'Étang in 1950 . He remained loyal to this through his entire youth and made the leap into the adult sector. In 1962 the goalkeeper moved to FC Hyères , which was then playing in the top amateur division. For the 1964/65 season he signed with the second division Olympique Marseille , but was primarily intended for the reserve team. Occasionally he was also considered for the professional team and came on September 20, 1964 to his second division debut when he was in a 2-0 defeat by US Boulogne in goal. He completed a total of four second division matches before he left Marseille again in the summer of 1965.

From 1965 he was part of the squad of the US Montélimar , which belonged to the third-rate highest amateur league. He remained loyal to the club for many years and achieved promotion to the second division with him in 1970. Belloni, who had already gained a small amount of experience at this level in Marseille, initially took a regular place in the following period. He managed to stay up with the team, but then temporarily lost his role as the first goalkeeper. This he was able to fight back, but suffered another setback in 1973 with relegation as bottom of the table. For Montélimar, he had played 66 games in the second division.

In 1974 he turned his back on the club from Montélimar after a total of nine years and went to FC AS Grenoble , which played in the amateur field, where he guarded the goal for a year. He then worked in Grenoble for this and other clubs as a coach. Belloni died in 2015 at the age of 74 as a result of a serious illness.
