Robert Blüthner

Paul Robert Blüthner (born January 12, 1867 in Leipzig ; † 1932 ) was a German lawyer and entrepreneur .

Life

Robert Blüthner was born in Leipzig in 1867 as the son of Julius Blüthner . He attended the St. Thomas School in Leipzig until 1889 . He then studied law at the University of Leipzig and was established in 1898 with a thesis on the legal situation of action agents to Dr. jur. PhD.

In 1904 he became commercial director of the Julius Blüthner piano factory . He traveled to South America several times and wrote well-received reports. The distribution of the high quality pianos was expanded to the whole world. Thanks to his support, the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1923 . Blüthner was a member of the Association of German Piano Manufacturers . His brothers were Heinrich Bruno (head of production) and Adolf Max (development of the concert grand). He adopted Rudolf Blüthner-Haessler , who continued the company in 1932.
