Robert Braet
Robert André Jules Braet (born February 11, 1912 in Bruges , † February 23, 1987 ibid) was a Belgian football goalkeeper and football official . He worked mainly at Cercle Bruges .
Life
Born in Bruges in 1912, Robert Braet played for Cercle Bruges throughout his professional career, from 1928 to 1948, interrupted by World War II . He played 392 games in the first and second divisions. The club's greatest success in Braets' active time was winning the Belgian Championship in 1930.
Braet played 14 games in the Belgian national team between 1931 and 1938. He took part in the 1938 World Cup in France , but was not used as the second goalie behind Arnold Badjou . In addition, Braet played for the Belgian B selection in international military games.
From 1967 to 1970 Braet was President of Cercle Bruges. He died in 1987 at the age of 75.
