Robert F. Colesberry

Robert F. Colesberry Jr. (born March 7, 1946 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , † February 9, 2004 in New York City , New York ) was an American film producer and actor. He was best known for productions such as the Oscar- nominated Mississippi Burning (1988), the four- Emmy- winning mini-series The Corner and the critically acclaimed television series The Wire .

Colesberry began his film career in the late 1970s as First Assistant Director, Production Coordinator and Production Manager. Starting in this period, he worked as an associate producer in the early 1980s until he appeared as a producer in 1985 with the death of a traveling salesman .

In 1986 he received the Independent Spirit Award for the production of Die Zeit nach Mitternacht .

Colesberry died in 2004 after complications from heart surgery.
