action
It is a very detailed film adaptation of the literary original. The central issue is the conflict between Willy Loman and his son Biff. Willy is an aging traveling salesman who refuses to admit his increasing unsuccessfulness. Biff also tries his hand at traveling sales, but fails. He also discovers that his father is having an extramarital affair. Another point of conflict is the fact that Willy always holds his own dead brother Ben in front of his son as a successful role model. Willy is hallucinating and the present and the past become more and more mixed up, he begins to talk to his dead brother. Due to the real failure of Willy, the family threatens to become completely impoverished, because debts and loans have to be paid back. In order to help his family, Willy decides to commit suicide and ends up driving away in his car that was manipulated by him. The family can now use the money from their life insurance to settle their bills.
