Olga Peretyatko ( Russian Ольга Александровна Перетятько , born May 21, 1980 in Leningrad ) is a Russian opera singer ( coloratura soprano ).

Life

She first studied choral conducting at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and since 2002 at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin with Brenda Mitchell. At the same time she appeared on stage in smaller and larger roles, for example in the Hamburg State Opera , the Komische Oper Berlin and the State Opera Unter den Linden . She has also made guest appearances at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad , the Verona Arena and the Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro .

This was followed by the leading role as Nightingale in Le rossignol by Igor Stravinsky and Elvira in Puritans at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City (2014) at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence in 2010 - a role that she also enjoyed with great success in 2015 sang at the Vienna State Opera . In 2015 she made her debut as Violetta in La traviata at the Opéra de Lausanne and in a new production of this opera by Rolando Villazón at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden . In the 2015-2016 season, Olga Peretyatko appeared as Gilda in Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto at the Met .

Peretyatko was married to the Italian conductor Michele Mariotti from 2012 to 2018 .

Awards

In 2007 she won the 2nd prize at the Operalia international singing competition in Paris . In 2016 she was awarded an ECHO Klassik .
