Robert Giroux
Robert Giroux (born April 8, 1914 in Jersey City , † September 5, 2008 in Tinton Falls , New Jersey ) was an American publisher and author .
While Giroux had been working for the publishing company Harcourt, Brace & Co. since 1940, he received an offer from Farrar & Straus in 1955 and also moved there. He first became a partner and later even chairman of the company that was then called Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
