Robert J. Koehler

Robert J. Koehler (born January 12, 1949 in Munich ; † May 17, 2015 ) was a German manager. He was CEO of SGL Carbon SE until December 31, 2013 .

Koehler attended the Benedictine high school near St. Stephan in Augsburg . After completing a commercial apprenticeship, Koehler studied business administration at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences . He worked for Hoechst AG from 1971 to 1991 and restructured Hoechst AG together with Jürgen Dormann . He then moved to SGL Carbon in Wiesbaden , where he was CEO until 2013.

Koehler was chairman of the supervisory boards of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Klöckner & Co and Benteler International AG . He was a member of the supervisory boards of Lanxess AG , Freudenberg SE , Freudenberg & Co. KG and Demag Cranes AG .
