Robert Krasser

Robert Krasser (born October 20, 1882 in Vienna ; † June 11, 1958 there ) was an Austrian educator and politician ( CS ).

Life

Robert Krasser was a pedagogue and vice-president of the City School Council for Vienna. He was a member of the Catholic student union KaV Norica Vienna , as well as the KaV Saxo-Bavaria Prague in the ÖCV . From 1913 to 1956 he was Philistine Senior at KaV Norica Vienna. He was chairman of the ÖCV advisory board and the management of the ÖCV from 1933 to 1948 and chairman of the old manors of the ÖCV from 1948 to 1955. For his commitment he received the highest award of the ÖCV, the Band in vestigiis Wollek and the ÖCV ring of honor .

Krasser was regional party leader of the Christian Socials in the Vienna state parliament . In his inaugural address as chairman in 1932, he said about anti-Semitism : “When Lueger conquered Vienna, one of the sparking ideas was anti-Semitism. For reasons of state policy, it has become alarmingly quiet in our party. ”He always vehemently opposed an affiliation with Germany.

On August 23, 1944, he was identified by the Vienna Gestapo because he "had expressed himself about the assassination attempt on the Führer in such a way as if he had known about it beforehand" .

After Robert Krasser died on June 11, 1958 in his hometown, he was buried on June 16, 1958 in the Ober Sankt Veiter cemetery .
