Robert Nowakowski

Robert Nowakowski (born May 6, 1967 in Puławy ) is a former Polish handball player who was mostly used on the left wing .

The 1.82 m tall right-hander began his career in 1987 at KS Hutnik Kraków. In 1995 he went to Iskra Kielce , with whom he became Polish champion in 1996 and 1998. In 1998 he moved to the German second division TSV Bayer Dormagen , with whom he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in 1998/99 . After he relegated with Dormagen 2000/01 and this withdrew to the regional league, he returned to Poland to Śląsk Wrocław . After a season in which he participated in the EHF Challenge Cup , he joined his hometown club from Kielce, with which he was again champion in 2003 and cup winner in 2003 and 2004. Internationally he played in the EHF Champions League 2003/04 and in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2003/04 and 2004/05. He then let his career at KS Azoty-Puławy end until 2008.

For the Polish national team Nowakowski played 168 international matches in which he scored 700 goals.
