Robert "Bobby" Olejnik (born November 26, 1986 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian football player .

Career

The son of Polish immigrants began his career in the youth teams of Rapid Wien and FK Austria Wien . After successful appearances at the U-17 European Championship in 2003, several teams from abroad noticed the goalkeeper . In 2003 he moved to the youth team at Aston Villa . In 2005 he was brought up for Aston Villa's first team as the third goalkeeper. At the beginning of 2007, the Austrian went to Lincoln City on loan to collect match practice. During the summer break of 2007, he switched to the Scottish first division club FC Falkirk , the contract duration was two years, the contract was later extended.

On January 2, 2008 he made a three-minute debut against FC Kilmarnock , and in the following round he played for the full 90 minutes.

On July 1, 2011, he moved to the English Football League Two for Torquay United . As an award for his good performance, Olejnik was elected to the PFA Team of the Year of the fourth division at the end of the 2011/12 season .

At the beginning of the 2012/13 season he moved to fourth division Peterborough United . There he played 88 league games, in 2014 he was loaned to Scunthorpe United , then to York City . In the summer of 2015 Olejnik moved within the league to the south-west England club Exeter City .

For the 2017/18 season he moved to league rivals Mansfield Town . After 29 fourth division games, he left the club after the 2019/20 season. He then ended his active career.
