Robert Planel

Robert Planel (born January 2, 1908 in Montélimar , † May 25, 1994 in Paris ) was a French composer .

The son of the composer and founder of the music school of Montelimar Alphonse Planel (1869-1947) was from 1914 to 1918 violin lessons at the first violinist of the Opéra de Paris , M. René Chédécal . From 1922 to 1933 he studied violin at the Conservatoire de Paris with Firmin Touche , harmony with Jean Gallon , counterpoint with Georges Caussade and composition with Henri Busser and Paul Vidal . In 1933 he won the Prix ​​de Rome and worked at the Villa Medici from 1934 to 1936. As Inspector General of the City of Paris, after 1945 he devoted himself particularly to promoting musical training. From 1972 to 1974 he was a co-founder of the Municipal Conservatories of Paris and the Paris Region.
