Robert Rädel

Robert Rädel (born April 12, 1982 in Dresden ) is a German cook and teacher .

Life

After his training in the gastronomy of the Semperoper in Dresden, Robert Rädel worked in various hotels in Europe and Asia before he perfected his style of filigree natural cuisine as head chef of a gourmet restaurant. In 2008 he passed the state-recognized master chef examination at the hotel management school in Heidelberg . In 2013 he took over the management of the restaurant "above" in the Lingental estate near Leimen, where he was awarded a Michelin star after just a few months . In 2016, the restaurant had to be closed after several water damage due to flooding. After a contract with a restaurant in Mannheim for a pop-up restaurant in 2016, he moved in 2017 to the newly created restaurant "above" in the Alter Kohlhof estate in Heidelberg, which again received a Michelin star in 2019.

Robert Rädel is married and has two children.

  • In 2019, the restaurant "Oben" in the Heidelberg Kohlhof was awarded a Michelin star, the chef of which is Rädel.
