Robert Rock (born April 6, 1977 in Armitage , Staffordshire ) is an English professional golfer on the PGA European Tour .

Career

Rock became a professional golfer in 1998 and has been on the European Tour since 2003.

He made his breakthrough in the 2009 season with three second places, where he was only defeated in the jump-off at the Irish Open against the then Irish amateur Shane Lowry. At the end of that season he was in the top 30 of the money list. Rock won his first tournament victory in 2011 at the Italian Open and in 2012 he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship against a very strong field with the top four in the world rankings and Tiger Woods .
