Gustav Robert Schlumberger (born October 2, 1872 in Gebweiler ; † October 8, 1958 in Colmar ) was a liberal German politician and a member of the second chamber of the regional parliament of Alsace-Lorraine .

Robert Schlumberger was the son of the entrepreneur Peter Adolf Schlumberger (born December 16, 1831 in Guebwiller, † January 3, 1911 ibid) and his wife Célina Rowcliffe (born April 17, 1841 in Rouen, † November 6, 1916 in Mulhouse). He married on May 4, 1900 in Versoix (Switzerland) the banker's daughter Alice Berthe Mirabeaud (born August 1, 1877 in Versoix).

Gustav Robert Schlumberger, who was a Protestant denomination, was raised privately until 1881 and attended grammar school in Gebweiler from 1881 to 1892. After graduating from high school, he studied law in Strasbourg and Munich. At the end of 1893 he joined the R. Schlumberger u. Cie., Gebweiler entered Gebweiler and was a factory owner and mayor of his hometown.

Since 1907 he was a member of the district council. He ran for the Liberal Democrats in the 1911 state elections in the Gebweiler-Sulz constituency as an independent candidate for the state parliament of Alsace-Lorraine . In the first ballot, 5,476 of the 5,537 eligible voters cast their votes. Wichy (SPD) won the first round of voting and received 2,003 votes. Schlumberger came in second with 1,754 votes, ahead of the Zhumann center candidate with 1,715 votes.

In the second ballot, Schlumberger prevailed with 3,227 votes against Wichy, who had received 2,239 votes.

He was awarded a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
