Robert Wessinger
Robert Wessinger (* 1825 in Asperg , † 1894 in Darmstadt ) was a German portrait, landscape and genre painter.
Born as the son of a reigning mayor in Asperg , Robert Wessinger studied from July 7, 1847 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich .
Wessinger spent the years 1851 and 1852 in Rome , where he became a member of the German Art Association . From his stay in Rome he brought pictures of Italian landscapes and folklore. He also created biblical and mythological representations.
After his return in 1852, Wessinger lived in Württemberg and Stuttgart , then from 1860 in Darmstadt , where he died at the age of 69.
