Robert Wiesner

Robert Wiesner (* 28. March 1953 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television journalist and presenter .

After graduating from the Bundesgymnasium Wien 16, Maroltingergasse, he studied economics at the University of Vienna and completed his studies with a diploma thesis on "Austria's economic relations with the oil-producing countries of the Arabian Peninsula 1970–1983" and the academic degree Magister .

From autumn 1976 Wiesner was a founding partner and editor of the Austrian magazine Extrablatt (Magazin) , from September 1979 to February 1985 press spokesman for Austrian Foreign Ministers Willibald Pahr , Erwin Lanc and Leopold Gratz . 1985–1987 foreign policy editor of the daily newspaper "Neue AZ", formerly Arbeiter-Zeitung .

Since 1987 Robert Wiesner has been editor of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, ORF , mainly for the programs Zeit im Bild , ZiB 2 , Inlandsreport and Report , 1989/91 correspondent in the USA. From 2004 to 2006 he hosted the political talk show Wiesner asks on ORF, which he developed.

From May 2008 he headed the television magazine Report of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). He retired in March 2018.
