Roberto Cantalupo
Roberto Cantalupo (born January 17, 1891 in Naples , † 1975 ) was an Italian diplomat .
Life
Cantalupo founded the Oltremare newspaper . From 1924 to 1934 he was a member of the Camera dei Deputati and from 1924 to 1926 State Secretary for the Colonies. From 1930 to 1932 he was the Ministre plénipotentiaire with Fu'ad I. in the Kingdom of Egypt . Then he was ambassador to Brazil . From February 18, 1937 to April 1937, he was Benito Mussolini's envoy to Francisco Franco in Burgos. When he denied the conspirators' short-term prospects of victory, he was recalled. From 1953 to 1968 he was a member of the Camera dei deputati in the second and fourth legislative periods of the Republic of Italy, first for the Partito Democratico Italiano di Unità Monarchica (PDIUM) ( monarchists ) and finally for the Partito Liberale Italiano .
