Roberto Cid Subervi (born August 30, 1993 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican tennis player .

Career

On the junior tour, Cid Subervi played until 2011 and reached his highest position in the junior ranking with the 120th place in the same year.

Until his studies at the University of South Florida , which he graduated from 2013 to 2016, and where he also played college tennis , Cid Subervi already made his debut for the Dominican Davis Cup team in 2012, for which he had a record of 4:10, and was among the best 1000 players in the tennis world rankings . After completing his studies, Cid Subervi played professional tournaments for the first time and won his first title on the third-class ITF Future Tour in June 2016. Two months later, he was also in another final.

In the following year 2017, he was in five future finals, three of which he won. There was also a title in doubles. He was represented three times in the main draw of a higher endowed Challenger tournament , but lost each time early. In March 2018, the Dominican achieved his greatest success to date. At the Challenger in Mexico , he first won three qualifications and triumphed four more times. In the final he lost against the Salvadoran Marcelo Arévalo in three sets. After two quarterfinals, he was in Schymkent against Yannick Hanfmann again in the final of a challenger and lost again. His best year to date was 243 in the world rankings. In 2018, Cid Subervi competed in the Central American and Caribbean Games and won the team and doubles competition. In the individual he lost to his compatriot Víctor Estrella .
