Roberto Etchepareborda (born December 19, 1923 in Milan , † April 10, 1985 in Falls Church ) was an Argentine foreign minister and ambassador .

Life

Roberto Etchepareborda was the son of an Argentine diplomat who was stationed in Milan. Etchepareborda studied in Europe and Argentina. From November 1955 to 1957 he headed the Archivo General de la Nación for the first time. This was located from 1940 to 1995 in a building on Avenida Leandro N. Alem 246, which had been built for Deutsche Bank before the First World War.

He was a prominent figure in the Unión Cívica Radical . From 1958 to 1962 he was city councilor of Buenos Aires, where he was mayor from May 1 to 13, 1958. On March 26, 1962, Arturo appointed Frondizi to his government cabinet as Foreign Minister. He held this office until the military coup on April 5, 1962. He died of a myocardial infarction in a commuting accident to American University , where he was teaching .
