Roberto Lorenz (* 1984 in Dresden ) is a German pianist and composer .

biography

Lorenz learned to play the piano and composition autodidactically in his childhood. In 2007 he performed for the first time in the Quartier an der Frauenkirche Dresden ( Neumarkt (Dresden) #Quartier I ). Since then he has given up to 100 concerts a year in Saxony. After his debut album “Schlafwandlerpfad” in 2011, his album “Heimkehr” was released in 2015; both piano cycles are available worldwide in audio CD and MP3 download formats. Characteristic of his piano works is a filigree, melodic style of composition.

In 2012 Lorenz arranged the video game music for numerous computer brain games of the series " Pushover AmigaOS4 port". In November 2015 he accompanied the singer and theater actress Kerstin Ibald on the piano in the official music video for “Lieb das Kind in dir”. In 2016 he wrote the music for the Austrian short film “Fit for democracy?” And composed the stage music for the play “Schwere-lose Misa” on behalf of the Styriarte cultural festival . Here Lorenz also used dissonant accents and elements of underscoring for the first time .

In 2017 his album "Egyptian Harp for Meditation" followed. In the same year he wrote piano pieces for the stage work "Misa thinks flying". Also in 2017 he released his fourth piano album "Meeresland". In 2018 his album "Relaxing Harp for Meditation" was released. "Egyptian Harp for Meditation Vol. 2" and "Renaissance Reimagined" followed in 2020, a homage to the music of the 16th century with contemporary elements.
