Kerstin Ibald (born May 13, 1978 ) is a German actress and singer .

Life

Kerstin Ibald comes from the wine village of Lehmen on the Moselle not far from Koblenz . At the age of five, Kerstin Ibald gained her first musical experience on the piano. At the age of 13 she took singing lessons, which was followed by studies at the Vienna Conservatory from 1998 to 2002 . During her training as a singer, she appeared in her first musical roles, including The Secret Garden and Me and my Girl . In 2002 she won first prize at the state singing (musical) competition in Hagen . As a soloist she reached the finals at the national singing competition in Berlin that same year.

At the first Fidelio competition of the City of Vienna in 2002, Ibald secured the "Special Acting Prize". Appearances in the musicals Elisabeth as well as in Footloose and Dracula followed . In Vienna she was also in the world premiere of Rebecca as Beatrice and cover in the role of "Mrs. Danvers ”. She followed the musical to the Theater St. Gallen . Together with Udo Jürgens , she sang for his CD Es lebe das Laster .

Engagements

In 2015 she appeared in the comedy Dresden as the protagonist of the play Alfons Zitterbacke . Various engagements have taken her to Germany, Austria and Switzerland over the past few years. a. twice to the Thunerseespiele and to the Luisenburg Festival , where she appeared as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webbers ' Musical Cats .

In the summer of 2018, Kerstin Ibald was seen in Hanau at the Brothers Grimm Festival as the evil fairy Selena and was awarded the audience award for this. In addition, she was nominated for the German Musical Theater Prize 2018 for her performance in Sleeping Beauty as "Best Actress in a Supporting Role".

In 2018 she can be seen in the comedy Fürth in an acting role in "The true Jacob". In the play "The Merry Widow" she played the title role in the comedy Fürth in 2019 (broadcast on BR television on New Year's Eve 2019).
