Robin Hoodlum is a 1948 American animated short film directed by John Hubley .

action

The Sheriff of Nottingham flees from Robin Hood's arrows to the king's castle, where he resigns from his post and then collapses when hit by arrows. After some bargaining about payment, the King appoints the Crow as the new Sheriff of Nottingham. After some more haggling, it was agreed that the crow should catch the fox Robin Hood within a week.

Robin Hood sings a song in the forest ("I rob from the rich, and I give to the poor, then I rob from the poor, if the rich need more ...") and soon meets the crow disguised as a knight. After a short duel, she knocks Robin down and the crow drags the fox through his followers, who are currently having coffee. Robin Hood is also a big fan of tea and biscuits and so he smuggles a king's roebuck into the sheriff's hands in his place and goes to his friends.

A little later an archery tournament is advertised aggressively in Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood smuggles his way into the tournament. The crow spots him and orders his arrest. Robin always manages to hit the target despite the worst shots, but misses the right moment to escape. He is arrested and locked in the king's castle. The king first uses a little handkerchief torture, whereby the crow "hits" the fox with a handkerchief. Archers are ready to shoot Robin Hood afterwards. Meanwhile, his followers notice that something is wrong, as Robin Hood would never miss a coffee. His followers go to the castle, break into the dungeon and give Robin Hood some tea. He can then loosen his bonds on his own and the king and the crow are captured. From now on you have to wash the gang's abundant dishes.
