Robin Jähne

Robin Jähne (born August 3, 1969 in Detmold ) is a German biologist , animal filmmaker , cameraman , film producer .

life and work

Jähne was born on August 3, 1969 in Detmold, Lippe. With a research project that provided evidence that thunderstorms follow very specific routes, he won first prize in the state competition of “Jugend forscht” and fourth prize in the national competition.

Robin Jähne studied biology, worked as a freelance journalist and photographer and worked as a weather presenter for a radio station. He has already presented his nature photographs in numerous lectures and exhibitions; they were published in newspapers such as the FAZ or magazines such as National Geographic Germany .

Robin Jähne is also active as an artist; after his father's illness, he continues to run his father's art workshop. In 1997, the Lippe Rose with a diameter of 180 centimeters was made out of stainless steel, in 1999 a two-meter-high garden sculpture and in 2002 a golden wasp as a lifelike , enlarged image made of stainless steel and copper, with eyes made of semi-precious stones.

Jähne produced numerous nature films. His specialty lies in unusual perspectives, time-lapse, as well as flight and aerial shots.

I want to provide well-founded but understandable information and ensure that the viewers of my pictures, the readers of my articles and the viewers of my films share the enthusiasm and awe of the miracles that often begin on the doorstep - this is my motivation. "

Jähne participated in numerous projects, for example the production about the Varus Battle of Terra X by Arte and ZDF or Adventure Mallorca by planet e of ZDF. For his contribution to nature conservation through his films, he was awarded the “Lippe Diamond” by NABU Lippe in 2013. Also in 2013 the film “The Year of the Red Kite” received the award for the best independent production at the renowned international green screen nature film festival in Eckernförde.
